What is Android one program?

   
     Today most of users uses smartphone which comes within android one program but they don't know what is it? and how it is beneficial to users?. I have personally experienced this things i have seen most of shopkeepers sold Android one smartphone by telling that its comes with android one support but they actually don't know that what is android one program? and what its benefits of this program? and also many people says that android one devices are google devices but its not true, So i decide to make people aware of this Android one program so that they can also get to know about this program and its benefits. Starting with most common question that is,

👉 What is Android One Program?

>      Android One is  a series of Smartphones that runs Stock Android Operating system. Its software is created by Google. In this program user get monthly security updates with two major android updates till 2 years from device launch. For apps protection, it has built in Google play protect feature its scan application automatically before installing it in user devices.

👉 History of Android One program:

     Android One program is introduced by Google CEO Mr. Sundar Pichai in Google I/O event 2014. The main aim behind Android One program is "to provide stock android and fast updates to android devices" at that time it is focused only on entry level devices which is going to be launch in developing countries like India, Pakistan. In this program Google provide its software support to android one devices with some hardware restrictions like the devices should have some minimum hardware so that it can run Android Os more smoothly or it has some particular hardware to support Android Os. Google decide to give Android One certification to devices by analyzing device specifications. In this program Google provide two major android updates along with monthly security updates, but this thing changes with time how? that we will get to know in this section.

     In September 2014, India's first android one device launched by Micromax, Spice, and karbonn at a price of Rs 6,000 in which it offers 1 GB of ram and 8 GB of rom along with old Mediatek processor. All the three devices comes with same design and specifications. These devices get 2 major Android update by Google that means these devices are launched with Android Kitkat and then they get Android Lollipop update and then they are upgraded to Android Marshmallow.

     At these time Xiaomi enters in Indian Mobile Market with its Xiaomi Redmi 1s which comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor at price of Rs 6000 only and it beats the Motorola's Moto G which comes with same hardware at a price of  Rs 12,000. Xiaomi offers powerful hardware specification in budget segment devices due to this many users go with Xiaomi phones instead of that weak hardware Android One devices and Android one smartphones gets flop in year 2014.

     In year 2015, Google partnership with more companies for making more Android One devices but the sales of this devices decreases frequently. In July 2015, Google partnership with Lava and launched Lava Pixel V1 which also comes with Mediatek hardware at a price of  Rs 10,000.
   

     Since it is a Android One device this device also get android Marshmallow update, but the sales of this phone is also poor because it is an overpriced device. Then Google understand its flaw that why they don't get better hardware partners for that Google changes its strategy previously Google has control of both hardware and software but this time they leave hardware control to companies.

     In year 2017, Google partnership with Xiaomi and launch Xiaomi MI A1 with Android One program in which software support is given by Google. This time companies has authority that they can make a desire-able hardware and they can make a little bit of modification or add some of their apps in stock android for example, if you are using Xiaomi 's Android one devices such as MI A1 or MI A2 you get stock android experience but you have seen there are some apps like camera app, Mi community and more are provided by Xiaomi. After that many android one devices are launched such as Motorola Moto X4, HTC U11 Life and Nokia phones.

👉 Changes in Android one program:

1. Device can have any type of specification
2. Companies can add some of their feature as per requirement.
3. Companies can add some of their limited applications if they need.
4. The Os should a clean and smooth Stock Android.
5. Device get two major update till Two years.
6. Device under this program get monthly security updates till two years.

     Although there is some change in Android One policy occurs but the main aim behind Android One program is same that users should get Stock android experience along with fast android updates.
