Lenovo brand Moto has its hands full as it prepares to release a slew of smartphones in the coming months which include the Moto C, Moto C Plus, Moto E4, Moto E4 Plus, and the Moto Z2 Force. Recently, these phones were spotted in leaked renders and now the Moto C and Moto C Plus have reportedly been certified in Russia, which suggests an imminent launch.
The smartphones were spotted on Russian import agency website EAC with their model numbers XT1750 and XT1754. The EAC certification means that the smartphones comply with Customs Union standard. This also means that both the Moto C and Moto C Plus are likely to be official in Russia soon. The listings were spotted by Android Soul.
The Moto C and Moto C Plus are being touted as entry-level smartphones that are said to be even cheaper than the Moto E series. These smartphones are also expected to support 4G with VoLTE and may sport polycarbonate bodies with removable back panels, based on recent renders. The report claims that only the Plus variant could get 4G support while the Moto C will only get 3G, which is in line with a previous report that claimed the Moto C will be available in a 3G-only variant alongside the 4G variant.
The Moto C is said to feature entry-level specifications including a MediaTek MT6737m 64-bit quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. It is said to pack-in a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854) display, while a 2300mAh removable battery will be there inside. A 5-megapixel camera will be there on the back of the Moto C, while there will be a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.
Meanwhile, the Moto C Plus may get a slightly bigger screen with an HD display and either 1GB or 2GB of RAM. The Moto C Plus will likely sport the same 2-megapixel camera on the front, but could get an 8-megapixel rear camera. The Moto C Plus variant is also expected to pack a bigger battery at 4000mAh. Both the models are also expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The Moto X (2017) was also spotted online on Thursday sporting a circular dual rear camera setup, an oval-shaped fingerprint sensor on the front and flash support for the front-facing camera. The mid-ranged Moto X will likely sport a metallic body and feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display. Rumour has it that the Moto X will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM, with a separate leak suggesting a 4GB of RAM as well. It is expected to be offered with 32GB of inbuilt storage.
