Develop An Video Conferencing App And Win 1 Crore By Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Government of India
Recently, Zoom app got hacked and according to the report over 5,00,000 user data sold on dark web. due to this incident Google told their employees to avoid use of zoom application for their meetings because this app is insecure, also the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Government of India told not to use this application as these application has security glitches also these application is not an Indian app so we will not take any risk.
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Government of India has launch an innovation challenge to develop video conferencing app under Make in India initiative. This competition is for registered startup companies and winners will get INR 1 crore and additional popularity of their application on google play store. This competition consist of three stages:
Stage 1: Ideation
Teams has to submit their innovative ideas or solution and 10 team will be selected from this stage. To build a prototype each team will receive funding of Rs 5,00,000.
Stage 2: Prototype
Teams has to build their prototype of their solution and they have to present their prototype in front of jury and they will shortlist top 3 teams for stage 3. Each shortlisted team for stage 3 will receive funding of Rs 20,00,000 to build solution.
Stage 3: Solution Building
This will be final stage where all the team which are shortlisted in stage 2 will present their solution. The winner will get fixed amount of INR 1 crore along with certificate from the honorable Minister of Electronics and IT deploying the solution for use by Government of India and State Government for a year and also they will receive funding of INR 10 lakhs per year for operation and maintenance.
For winning this competition Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Government of India have given their requirement that what feature that app should poses. The application must have these features:
1. It should support all video resolutions and audio quality, should work in low and high network scenarios.
2. Should be low on usage of power/ processor.
3. Should not have any external hardware dependency.
4. Should work on any device.
5. Should have chat option during conference, even the multi people conference.
6. Should have sign-in and non-sign-in options to join a conference.
7. Can be browser and/or app based interface.
8. Should have encrypted network communication.
9. Should have audio/ video recording feature.
10. Should have screen/file sharing capabilities.
11. Should allow audio to close captioning during chat (multilingual).
12. Should have capabilities to host multiple concurrent conferences having multiple participants in each conference.

Deadline for submitting ideas is: 30th April 2020.
